Photo's of Exterior Stucco repairs and Painting
Exterior we had to repair the stucco and repaint
This House in the Grosse Pointe Park, MI was in need of Stucco repairs and Painting, We first Power washed the Stucco and Batten boards to remove any loose Stucco and Paint.
Power washing saves time on scraping but it sure removes the paint as you can see
After Power washing the area is raked and cleaned up of all the Stucco and Paint chips.
What water can do to wood after years of a leak that no one wanted to fix
Here I had to remove the Stucco and Batten boards, We found that the water had been getting in behind the Stucco from the window sill, I ended up taking and replacing all the ship lap boards, I had my Daughter cut all new ship lap out of 1 x 10 and then cut to lenght.
Here we are now ready for the stucco to be applied
Here the Batten boards are put back in place and all new ship lap siding then we covered it with 30lbs felt then I instaled ribbed metal lath,
Now after stripping paint from batten boards the stucco is cured and then primed
I mixed up a Sand, Portland Cement and some Lime then applied it in the areas that the old Stucco was removed from,Then I stripped down the Batten boards with a grinder,
Another fine Home in Grosse Pointe Park, MI.
Well now that we have it all back together and the front yard of this Fine Home cleaned up, The Neighbors can't believe in the difference the new paint job has made from the way the house looked before.
Well now that we have painted the Stucco and Batten boards, I had to reglaze the casement windows above the front door, and then we painted the windows frames.
