Photo's of Kitchen and Family Room
These photo's that follow will be of water damage where the paint peeled off the ceiling and walls of this Kitchen and Family Room
Here after removing the paneling I found the paint was peeling off the walls. again the Insurance Company didn't believe this could happen.
This paneling was put up in the 1970's, well the Homeowner found out from her Insurance Adjustor that the wall surface under the paneling is what the Insurance Company calls Abandone Surface therefore they would not pay for the walls to be repaired. My Customer was very disapointed with her Insurance Company and to think their commercial says "Like a Good neighbor!" I guess they felt that my Customer wasn't worth paying to repair her Home, To think she has been their customer for 30 years.
As you can see the paint is peeling off the wall as well as the ceiling is peeling also. The Insurance Company will pay for the ceiling but will not pay for the walls. Paint peeling is from same water leak, but because someone put up paneling the paint peeling off the wall is on a Abandone Surface. So if you have water damage and your hopeing that your HomeOwners Policy will cover it make sure you are covered and your Insurance Company doesn't come off with this type of answer for your repairs. I have found over the years that more Insurance Companies are trying to keep from paying for damages to HomeOwners houses.
